The Majlis Hotel Lamu

The Majlis Hotel Lamu is a beachfront resort on Manda Island, part of the Lamu Archipelago, overlooking Ras Kitau Bay and Lamu Island. The property consists of twenty-five rooms divided into three villas, each with sea views and private verandas. Rooms are air-conditioned and include king-size beds, linen bedding, and mosquito nets.

The resort has two swimming pools, one of which overlooks the bay and Lamu Island. The restaurant serves Swahili, Italian, and international cuisine, with fresh seafood a focus. Two bars, including a pool bar, offer drinks and light snacks.

Activities include water sports like kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing trips by dhow. Cultural excursions to Lamu town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are also available. The resort is built using locally sourced materials, including coral blocks from nearby quarries.

The Majlis Hotel Lamu opened in 2009 and has since become a popular destination for both leisure and corporate guests. Its location on Manda Island provides a quiet setting, away from the bustle of Lamu town.
