Ziwa Bush Lodge

You stay at Ziwa Bush Lodge in stone cabins with makuti roofs — folded palm leaves — near Nakuru. The eight executive cabins and three standard rooms are built from local stone and canvas, with wooden furniture made by carpenters from Nakuru town. Each room has an en-suite bathroom.

The lodge was started eight years ago to support the East African Mission Orphanage. Three percent of each booking goes to the orphanage, which cares for two hundred and fifty children.

Guests eat in a restaurant with a wood-fired pizza oven. At night, you can sit by a bonfire under the stars. The lodge is a stop for travelers going to Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria, or the Menengai crater.

The cabins are set among indigenous trees and bushes, with space between them for quiet.
