The Oberoi Beach Resort, Mauritius
A beachfront resort on Turtle Bay with private-pool villas
You stay at The Oberoi Beach Resort on the shore of Turtle Bay, a protected marine park in Mauritius. The resort spreads across twenty acres of sub-tropical gardens, with villas that have private pools and sunken marble bathtubs. Some villas face the ocean; others look over the gardens. Each has a terrace with sun loungers.
The resort is twenty kilometres from Port Louis, the capital, where you can see colonial architecture and markets. On the grounds, you walk through gardens to reach the beach. The villas are built with traditional thatched roofs, and the larger ones have separate living rooms and dining pavilions.
Turtle Bay is the reason the resort is here. The water is clear, and the bay is sheltered, so you can swim or snorkel without going far from your villa.
