Penduka Village, Windhoek Namibia

Penduka Village is a women-led craft and hospitality project by Goreangab Dam in Windhoek. The project focuses on empowering women through skills development and economic opportunities, with a strong emphasis on handmade crafts and sustainable practices.

The village offers accommodation options, a restaurant serving local cuisine, and a shop selling handmade products. The crafts produced here include embroidery, batik, and jewelry, often made from recycled materials. The restaurant provides a space to enjoy traditional Namibian dishes while overlooking the dam.

The project has been running for over thirty years, supporting women from marginalized communities. It operates as a social enterprise, reinvesting profits into training and development programs for the women involved.

Visitors can explore the grounds, which include gardens and a chicken coop supplying fresh produce for the restaurant. The dam setting provides a peaceful backdrop for the village's activities.
