Mount Etjo Safari Lodge, Namibia

You stay at Mount Etjo Safari Lodge inside Namibia’s Okonjati wildlife sanctuary, where twice-daily game drives take you out to see lion, rhino, and elephant. The lodge was built to face a watering hole where animals come to drink, so you can watch from the poolside or your room as wildlife moves through the landscape.

The lodge has twenty-two rooms, most overlooking the watering hole or the garden where flamingos gather. Rooms are built in a mix of stone and wood, with private bathrooms and verandas. Families can book connecting rooms; the villa has its own pool and garden.

Meals are served in the dining room or outdoors under the trees. The kitchen uses game meat from the reserve, lean and antibiotic-free, alongside vegetables grown on the property. Breakfast starts early for the morning drive, and dinner is served buffet-style after the afternoon drive.

The lodge is wheelchair-friendly, with ramps and adapted bathrooms. Guided walks and photographic safaris are available, and the lodge’s guides will take you out to track rhinos on foot. The watering hole is the reason the lodge is here at all — it draws the game and cools the camp.
