De Viswijf sits on the beachfront in Jeffreys Bay, looking out over the bay and the surf break called Kitchen Windows. The restaurant serves seafood alongside beef, poultry and local dishes, with a wine list drawn from South African estates. The first-floor dining room has views through glass windows; the deck is open to the air under shade netting.

Owners Fred and Nadine opened the restaurant in 1999. The kitchen takes last orders at half past eight in the evening, though you can stay later with drinks. The wine list includes options by the glass, from De Viswijf’s own label to bottles from Durbanville Hills, Kaapzicht and other vineyards.

The restaurant is on Diaz Road, near the main beach on the southern side of Jeffreys Bay. The surf break Kitchen Windows is visible from the tables.
