You eat at Nevermind beside the Seal Point lighthouse in St Francis Bay, where the kitchen works over wood fires and bakes its own bread. The dining room looks out over the bay, close enough to hear the water. The menu leans on seafood and local ingredients, with pastries baked in-house and served from a kiosk.

The lighthouse, built in 1878 from local stone, stands twenty-eight metres tall. Its beam still guides ships into Algoa Bay, though the dining room does not catch the light. The restaurant shares the site with the lighthouse keeper’s restored quarters, now rented as self-catering accommodation.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. The kitchen works with what the bay provides — line fish, calamari, seasonal catches — and the wood fire gives the plates a coastal character. The bakery turns out pastries and bread daily, sold from the kiosk for those who want to take the kitchen’s work down to the beach.
