Le Manoir Hotel

Le Manoir is a thirteen-suite hotel at the foot of Northcliff hill in Johannesburg. Many of the suites have private balconies or terraces, looking out over the suburb’s trees. The kitchen is led by a chef trained in French techniques, working with local ingredients — the dining room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a wine list leaning toward South African vineyards and French bottles.

The building was recently renovated in a European style, with stone and wood in the shared spaces. The Champagne Room holds private tastings and dinners, with a bar and space for small events. The grounds include a terrace and garden where guests take drinks outdoors.

Northcliff is a residential suburb northwest of the city center, with quiet streets and older houses. The hotel is on the corner of Weltevreden and Scott streets, a short drive from the Northcliff ridge and its views over Johannesburg.
