Lower Sabie

Lower Sabie Rest Camp sits on the Sabie River in Kruger National Park, with views of the Lebombo Mountains. The perennial river draws wildlife to its banks, and the camp is surrounded by riverine vegetation, including sycamore fig trees that attract birds and insects. The camp offers a range of facilities, including communal kitchens, a swimming pool, and a restaurant overlooking the river.

Activities include visiting Sunset Dam, a kilometer from the camp, and Nthandanyati Bird Hide, about eleven kilometers away. The camp is a base for exploring the surrounding savannah, where grazing species are common. The area is known for its diverse wildlife, and sightings are frequent along the riverbanks.

The camp accommodates visitors in safari tents, bungalows, and a guest house. Communal ablutions and a laundromat are available, and the restaurant serves meals with views of the river. The camp’s location makes it a convenient stop for those traveling through Kruger, with access to picnic sites and bird hides nearby.
