Dinokeng Resort

Dinokeng Resort is a bushveld getaway inside the Dinokeng Game Reserve, about fifty minutes from Pretoria. You stay here for the supertubes — three high slides and three smaller ones — and the seven swimming pools, including two heated options. The Boekenhoutspruit River runs through the property, and there is a dam for catch-and-release fishing.

The resort has eighty-three caravan sites with private or shared ablutions, and eight self-catering units. Unmarked trails for walking or mountain biking wind through the bushveld. Children have a play area with a jungle gym and jumping pillow, while the Vlakvark Drinkgat bar serves drinks with a pool table and dartboard.

Birdwatchers can bring binoculars for the resident species, and anglers can fish the river or dam. The resort does not allow day visitors or pets, and all stays must be booked in advance. The camping and caravan sites have electricity and water points, and the self-catering units are fully furnished.
