Transkaroo Country Lodge

Transkaroo Country Lodge is a roadside stop in Britstown, built for travelers crossing the Northern Cape. The rooms have air conditioning and DSTV, with some offering en-suite baths and others shared facilities for backpackers. Families can book rooms that sleep up to five.

The courtyard has café tables under vines, with music playing in the evenings. The swimming pool is set in the garden, a place to cool off after a day on the road. Cars park in a covered area with a guard on duty, who will wash your vehicle for a fee if asked. The lodge has a small shop selling wine and deli items. Britstown sits at the junction of two national roads, making the lodge a practical halt for drivers heading north or south.

The owner has run the place for over forty years, and the staff are noted for being attentive. Rooms are clean, with coffee and tea-making facilities in each.
