You stay at Middelwater Farm on a working sheep and cattle property thirty minutes from Bloemfontein, where farm life is the point. The Strydoms bought the place in 2017 and opened it to visitors, keeping it a working farm while adding activities and accommodation.

The farmstay has three room types — twin, double, and VIP suites — each with tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning, and a balcony or walk-in closet. The VIP suite adds a bath and double basin to the en-suite bathroom.

The farm runs game drives across its grasslands, tractor rides for children, and a Saturday market with craft beer, coffee, and live music. A chapel hosts weddings and events, and a jungle gym lets children play outside. The farm also has a bike park and self-guided walks.

The kitchen serves meals on request, and the bar pours local craft beer. The farm is thirty minutes from Bloemfontein on a tarred road, close enough for a day visit but far enough to feel like the countryside.
