Riverside Country Estate
You book Riverside Country Estate for a wedding or event on the Blesbokspruit, Gauteng’s only Ramsar-listed wetland. The estate holds three venues: the Open Air Chapel for ceremonies under trees, Willow Hall for one hundred guests, and Wisteria Hall for three hundred and fifty. The wetland draws birds and cools the air; the water is part of the view from each space.
The estate is forty-five minutes from Johannesburg via the N17, and thirty minutes from OR Tambo airport. On-site accommodation includes Willow and Wisteria Rooms, a Family Room, and a Honeymoon Suite. The Bridal Suite is for day use only, with vanity stations and a champagne bar.
Wedding coordinators manage the day, and the kitchen serves in-house catering. The Open Air Chapel has wooden walkways through the trees; Willow Hall has garden-view windows and a terrace; Wisteria Hall has chandeliers and a commercial kitchen. Corporate events use the same spaces, with AV equipment and business-grade Wi-Fi throughout.
The wetland status means the site is protected for its waterbirds and ecology. You hear frogs at night and see herons in the reeds by day. The water is the reason the estate is here at all.
