Chinchilla is a rooftop cocktail bar on the Camps Bay strip, with views over the Atlantic. You come for drinks at sunset, when the light turns gold over the water. The bar serves cocktails, an extensive wine and whisky selection, and a continental menu with sushi and seafood platters. On weekends, live DJs play as the sun goes down.

The space is on the second floor of The Promenade, a building set back from Victoria Road. The rooftop position gives it a clear line of sight to the ocean, and the bar faces west to catch the evening light. The menu leans toward café classics, with crudités and platters designed to share.

No one under eighteen is allowed after four in the afternoon. The bar opens at midday on weekends and public holidays, and at four in the afternoon on weekdays.
