You stop at Desert Rose Farmstall on the N7 between Moorreesburg and Piketberg, a roadside break with a restaurant, shop, and outdoor space for children. The farmstall serves breakfast until eleven — eggs Benedict, a full English breakfast, three-egg omelettes — and lunch plates like cheese-and-bacon burgers, pork ribs, and schnitzel. Pancakes, both sweet and savoury, are a house specialty. The kitchen uses local produce where it can.

The dining room seats sixty indoors and out, with a fireplace for cold days. Dogs are welcome on leads; staff bring water bowls for them in summer. A gift shop sells enamelware, clothing, and preserves made nearby. Children play on the jungle gym or in the open yard while adults eat.

The building stands at the turnoff to Koringberg, a natural halt on the drive from Cape Town toward Namibia. Trucks and cars park easily here; families stretch their legs, and travellers ask staff for local advice. The farmstall has been running since at least 2018, but it feels like a place that has always been here for the road.
