Klein Roosboom is a boutique winery in Durbanville, on the outskirts of Cape Town. You taste their wines inside an old concrete wine tank, now a tasting room, where the thick walls keep the air cool. The winery’s 2019 vintage won 17 awards, including Top Ten Producer at the Vitis Vinifera Awards. Their wines include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with some bottles earning double gold medals.

The tasting room is the winery’s defining feature — a repurposed concrete tank that once held wine, now a space to sample their current vintages. The winery also has a restaurant, Jéan, set among the vineyards. The cooler conditions in December and January helped their earlier varieties, like Chardonnay, ripen with good acidity and freshness.

Klein Roosboom’s wines are available for purchase online, but only within South Africa. Deliveries take five to ten working days after payment. The winery does not sell to anyone under 18.
