You stay at Reef & Beach Resort on a 600-meter stretch of seafront between the villages of Jambiani and Makunduchi. The resort has multiple pools, including swim-up rooms where you can step directly from your terrace into the water. Rooms range from standard options to thatched bungalows with private terraces facing the ocean or gardens. Some bungalows are built under traditional thatched roofs, with two separate units sharing one roof.

The all-inclusive option covers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and house drinks. There are three restaurants: one for buffet dining, one serving Italian food, and another with international and Indian dishes. The Mango Bar does wood-fired pizzas and cocktails. The Jetty Bar sits over the water.

The resort is about an hour's drive from Stone Town and Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. It sits on the southeast coast, which is quieter than the north of the island. Mangroves grow near the property, and local seaweed farmers work along the shore.

Guests can book excursions like spice tours or visits to Kuza Cave, a sinkhole in the jungle near Jambiani. The resort also arranges safaris to mainland Tanzania's Nyerere National Park.
