Malakai Eco Lodge

Malakai Eco Lodge sits three hundred metres off the main road to Entebbe, twenty minutes from the airport. The cottages face a garden with shady trees and flowers, some with private bathrooms and others shared for budget stays. Each has mosquito nets and chairs for sitting outside.

The restaurant serves local and international dishes, moving tables into the garden in the evenings for open-air dining. An eleven-metre swimming pool and an open-air gym stand near the fish pond, where a breeze from the garden keeps the air cool. The wellness centre has massage chairs and beds, open until six in the evening.

Boat trips run from Entebbe to islands on Lake Victoria, and guests can fish from canoes in the evening. A campfire is lit at sunset, often for cooking the day’s catch. The gardens host weddings and events for up to two hundred people, with lights strung after dark and a children’s play area.

The lodge provides airport transfers, laundry service and a backup generator. Parking is ample, and security runs through the night.
