Okapuka Safari Lodge
A safari lodge thirty minutes from Windhoek, set in African bushveld
You stay at Okapuka Safari Lodge thirty minutes north of Windhoek, where the bushveld begins. The lodge has twenty-one rooms under camel thorn trees, with antelope grazing on the lawns between them. Each room has a veranda, air conditioning, and an en-suite bathroom; the Luxury Safari Suite adds a living room and children’s bedroom.
Game drives go out mornings and evenings in open vehicles, tracking white rhino, giraffe, and antelope across the reserve. The restaurant serves Namibian and international dishes under the same camel thorns, with warthogs and antelope passing by the tables.
The lodge is on the B1 road, thirty minutes from Windhoek’s center. It works as a first or last stop on a Namibian trip, with the city close enough for supplies or flights, and the bushveld right outside the door.
