Fisherman’s Garden sits in the seaside village of Kommetjie, a scenic drive from Cape Town. The restaurant is shaded by ancient Milkwood trees, with tables scattered under umbrellas for summer lunches and dinners. The menu leans on seafood — prawns, calamari, and line fish — alongside wood-fired pizzas, burgers, and steaks. In winter, the indoor dining room is warmed by a crackling fire.

The restaurant is divided into three areas: a laid-back garden under the Milkwoods with a children’s play area, an open-air pub and sports bar where locals gather, and a cosy indoor dining space. Dogs are welcome in the garden, provided they stay leashed and off the seats.

On Sundays, the kitchen fires up Mozambican braais, and live music fills the space on weekend afternoons. The drive to Kommetjie is part of the experience, winding through the Cape Peninsula’s landscapes before reaching the village.
