Homespun Blouberg
Homespun Blouberg is a tasting-menu restaurant where you choose between set menus with wine pairings, each course offering a selection of dishes. The kitchen blends European techniques with Asian and local influences — beef tartare with apricot, wild boar with sour fig, jackfruit dumplings with char siu. Chef Matt Schreuder designed the space after working abroad, assembling much of the furniture himself.
The dining room holds several seating options: regular tables, a bar counter where mixologists prepare molecular cocktails, and a window counter facing Table Mountain. Groups of ten or more must pre-order; the restaurant accommodates forty-five for private functions.
Menus change seasonally but maintain the same structure: you select one dish per course from options that might include Angus tartare, beef fillet with wasabi carrot, or a plant-based butternut with truffle. Wine pairings are available but no corkage is permitted. The window counter seats look toward Table Mountain across the water.
