Yellowwood Forest is a campsite and self-catering retreat set in coastal forest a kilometre and a half from Morgan Bay beach. You camp on grassy, shaded sites or stay in one of the self-catering cottages, built from mud and thatch. The forest trail runs seven hundred metres through the trees, and the property sits on the Inchara riverbank, where you can kayak at sunset.

The site includes a tea garden and pizzeria, and the Saturday market draws traders and shoppers from nearby towns. Birdwatchers come for the hundred and fifty-three species recorded here, including the African Finfoot and Narina Trogon, and the forest trail is an easy walk for families.

Campsites have basic electrical points for lights and small fridges, but no appliances with heating elements. Water is scarce, so taps are few and shared. The ablutions block has four hot showers, a bath and four flushing toilets, cleaned daily. Firewood is sold on site for the stone braai circles, and the communal elevated braai is lit at night.

The property is eco-conscious, with waste separation bins and a no-music policy. Dogs are not allowed, and generators are discouraged. Reception closes at six out of season, and check-in is after two.
