The property spreads across three buildings set around a tropical garden with a swimming pool, and the beach is a short walk down Marine Drive.

The eleven self-catering apartments sleep two, four or six, each with a kitchen and DSTV. Backpacker options range from private rooms to shared dorms in wooden cabins, with communal bathrooms and a kitchen. Heidi’s Café serves breakfast and coffee on site, and there is a small licensed bar and a pool table.

Ansteys Beach itself has lifeguards and warm water year-round, with rock pools at low tide and dolphins often visible from shore. The Bluff is fifteen kilometres south of Durban, putting uShaka Marine World and the city’s stadiums within easy reach. King Shaka Airport is forty kilometres north.

The garden pool is shaded by palms, and the property takes its name from the beach it faces.
