Drakensberg Chocolate Memories is a chocolate cafe in Cathkin Park, housed in a converted airplane hangar on the El Mirador airfield. You come here for Belgian couverture chocolates, roasted coffee, and a family-friendly chocolate bar that serves hot chocolates, fondues, and brewed coffee.

The kitchen uses Belgian couvertures made from sustainable, traceable cocoa beans supported by the Cocoa Horizons program. The coffee roastery offers single-origin and blended beans, freshly brewed cups, and beans to take home. Every coffee is served with dark chocolate-coated coffee beans.

The cafe runs free tastings daily, where the team shares chocolate knowledge and offers samples. Families can relax in the gardens with toy airplanes and a zipline while adults enjoy the chocolate bar.

The hangar sits in the Berg Air Lifestyle Centre, surrounded by the Drakensberg mountains. It has been crafting chocolate since 2009.
