You stay at Drakensberg Sun Resort beside a private lake in the Drakensberg mountains, with Cathkin Park as the backdrop. The resort has seventy-eight hotel rooms, from standard to a presidential suite, and thirty self-catering chalets with fireplaces and braai areas. The chalets are for timeshare members.

The lake is for canoeing; the grounds hold tennis courts and a playground. Hiking trails wind through the property, and horse rides go into the mountains. The spa uses local plant-based products in its treatments.
