DeVosRus (NO LOADSHEDDING) Guesthouse (Gastehuis) KATHU

You stay at DeVosRus for the backup power — the guesthouse runs through load-shedding, so the air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and hot water stay on. The six rooms each have a private entrance, double bed, walk-in shower, and air conditioning. Three rooms add a three-quarter bed; others have a seventy-inch or seventy-five-inch TV with streaming. The kitchenette holds a microwave, large fridge, and coffee plunger.

The grounds have an eleven-meter swimming pool and a koi pond stocked with imported fish. A tunnel of ponytail palms runs beside the pool, and the garden grows cycads, palms, and bonsai. CCTV cameras watch the property.

Kathu Golf Club is three kilometers away. The guesthouse opened in February 2017 on Stinkhout Street, a quiet road in town.
