Afrikanos Restaurant and Crocodile Diving, Gansbaai South Africa

At Afrikanos in Gansbaai, you can dive with Nile crocodiles in a pool separated by a stainless-steel net — the first enclosure of its kind. Five captive-bred crocodiles live here, some among the largest in South Africa. The dive lasts up to sixty minutes; you are given a rash vest, towel, and diving mask. Before diving, a guide explains crocodile behavior and safety.

The restaurant serves pizza, burgers, and steaks, with a bar offering local wines and craft beer. An underwater viewing cave and elevated walkway let you observe the crocodiles without entering the water. The site is near Gansbaai Harbour and Danger Point Lighthouse.

Diving sessions run three times daily, with additional slots during school holidays. Children under six are not permitted; those between six and twelve must dive with an adult. The steel net keeps divers and crocodiles apart while allowing close observation.
