Bismillah Restaurant serves halal South Asian cuisine in Gatesville, Cape Town. The kitchen works with recipes from Bangladesh, Pakistan and southeast India, developed by owners Jababul and Rina Hoque since they opened their first restaurant in Karachi in 1985.

The menu includes biryani, tikka, korma, roti and curry dishes made with traditional masalas. Chefs from Bangladesh prepare the food following the owners' recipes, using authentic ingredients. The dining room sits in the Gateway Centre near GMC Hospital, serving meals through the day.

The restaurant is one of several locations the Hoques have opened since moving their business to South Africa in 1997. What began as a small family operation now includes multiple restaurants across the country, all serving the same home-developed recipes.
