Noop
Noop is a restaurant in a heritage building on Paarl's Main Road, serving dishes made from ingredients sourced from local suppliers. The kitchen avoids tinned goods and keeps recipes simple to let the ingredients speak. If a dish is not on the menu, it is because the ingredient was not available that day.
The wine list has over three hundred bottles, with a third from Paarl vineyards and the rest from nearby Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. There are also selections from Elgin, Stanford, and further afield, including organic options and a rare-wine cellar available on request.
The building can host private events for up to forty people, with a dedicated wine bar and lounge. The restaurant occasionally holds food and wine pairing evenings or adds experimental dishes to the specials board.
The place has the feel of a local spot where regulars are known by name, and the team spends more time here than at home.
