You eat at The Club House on the grounds of Claremont Cricket Club, with cricket fields stretching out before you and Table Mountain visible in the distance. The restaurant opened in 2013, built into a historic clubhouse that dates back to the club’s founding in 1876. The kitchen serves seasonal menus — hearty lamb shank and chicken pie in winter, lighter dishes on the deck in summer — with a signature Clubhouse burger always available.

The wooden deck looks out over the cricket fields, and families often gather here while children play on the supervised grounds. A daily temporary membership fee of one rand is charged to all patrons, and guests are welcome to join the club for an annual fee.

The Claremont Cricket Club moved to this site in Constantia in 1971 after decades near the Claremont railway station. It remains a working cricket club, so while you are free to enjoy the fields, the pitch itself is off-limits.
