The One Resort Zanzibar

The One Resort Zanzibar sits on the south coast of the island, facing the Indian Ocean. You stay in rooms with queen beds, private bathrooms, mini-fridges, and tea stations. The resort has two swimming pools, one of them the largest on Zanzibar, and a stretch of beachfront where you can walk along the water.

Rooms are grouped into categories: Deluxe Doubles for two people, Junior Suites for four, and Deluxe Suites for six. The suites have living areas with fold-out sofas, and some rooms look out over the garden. Four family villas were added more recently, with space for four guests each.

The resort is built near Makunduchi, a quieter part of the island away from the busier north. The beach here is less crowded, and the water is clear. You can swim in the pools or the sea, and the pilates studio offers classes with a trained instructor.

The rooms have wooden furniture and air conditioning, and the windows let in the sea breeze.
