The Chobe Safari Lodge, Kasane Botswana

You stay at Chobe Safari Lodge on the banks of the Chobe River in Kasane, where elephants and hippos pass by the water’s edge. The lodge shares a border with Chobe National Park, so wildlife moves freely between the river and the bush. Rooms face either the river or the bush, with some in classic rondavels that have been restored. The pool looks out over the water, and the Sedudu Bar serves drinks at sunset.

Game drives go into the park twice daily, and boat cruises on the river pass hippos, crocodiles, and herds of buffalo. The kitchen serves meals with river views, including grilled meats and local dishes like samp and morogo spinach. The lodge has a campsite with shaded pitches for those who prefer to sleep closer to the ground.

The lodge was established in 1959 and has been a base for safaris since. Renovations in 2024 updated some rooms and common areas, but the riverfront location remains unchanged. Kasane town is a short walk away for markets and supplies.
