Fred's Ranch and Resort

Fred's Ranch and Resort is a Texas cowboy-themed property seventy kilometers from Nairobi in Isinya. You stay in cottages ranging from standard rooms to honeymoon suites with jacuzzis, all set among lawns, haystacks, and dairy cattle. The kitchen serves organic farm-to-table meals with dishes like grilled goat meat and traditional chicken cooked in rich sauce. The swimming pool has cabanas for day use, and rhumba music plays through the grounds.

The ranch grows some of its own vegetables and serves meat from the grill. Signature dishes include mbuzi choma (grilled goat) and kienyeji chicken cooked with spinach. The dining room offers breakfast skillets, pancakes with maple syrup, and fresh juices from the farm. Meals come with ugali, kachumbari, and other Kenyan staples.

Cottages have king-size beds, mini bars, and free WiFi. The honeymoon suite includes champagne on arrival. Day visitors can use the VIP cabana by the pool. The ranch is gated with twenty-four-hour security.

The property covers ten acres with views of the Kajiado landscape. It was founded by Fred Obachi Machoka, a broadcaster known for rhumba music.
