Desert Quiver Camp
A self-catering camp five kilometres from Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert
You stay at Desert Quiver Camp, five kilometres from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert. The camp has twenty-four self-catering units, each with a kitchenette, private patio and parking. The kitchenette has a fridge and two-plate hob; utensils are in a utility box at reception, and fresh food can be ordered daily.
The units sleep two adults, with a fold-out couch for two children under twelve. The patio has a barbecue and wooden bench seating, and the camp has a bar with a television and a swimming pool. Two communal bomas let groups gather for meals or drinks.
The nearby Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre runs guided excursions into the desert, including sunrise drives to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, nature walks on Elim Dune and sundowner drives. Hot-air ballooning and scenic flights are also available.
The camp is on the D826 road, eight kilometres from the junction with the C19. The Sossus Oasis Service Station, three hundred metres from the park entrance, sells fuel and supplies.
