Blaauwberg Beach Hotel

You stay at Blaauwberg Beach Hotel for the view: Table Mountain to the east, Robben Island to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean from every window. The hotel stands on Bloubergstrand beach, where the water is cold and the sand stretches for miles. Its 140 rooms all face the sea, with some configured as interleading units for families or groups.

The building rises ten floors above the beach, high enough to see past the surf to where container ships queue for Cape Town harbour. From April 2026, the glass façade will be replaced and rooms behind it refurbished — scaffolding will go up in March, work will run through June.

Eleven meeting rooms spread across four floors host conferences for eight to 220 people, all with the same ocean and mountain views. The largest, Table Bay Room, divides into two spaces seating 110 each. On the rooftop, Sand & Sea holds 100 for banquets or 150 for cocktails, with a veranda wrapping the building.

Bloubergstrand is a twenty-minute drive from central Cape Town, with the V&A Waterfront and Durbanville wine farms within easy reach. The beach itself is for walking, kitesurfing, or sitting at sunset when the mountain turns pink.
