La Colombe
La Colombe is a modern French restaurant set at Silvermist Estate in Constantia, a wine-growing area of Cape Town. The kitchen focuses on refined dishes with local ingredients, such as aged duck with smoked parsnip, truffle sourdough, and artichoke with hazelnut and chocolate. The dining room overlooks the estate’s gardens, with views of the surrounding vineyards.
Menus change seasonally, often featuring dishes like yellowfin tuna with apricot and labneh, or Karoo lamb rump with salsa verde. The restaurant operates a deposit policy to secure reservations, with cancellations requiring forty-eight hours’ notice for a full refund. Children under eight are not permitted, and guests cannot bring their own wine.
The estate is reached by driving through Constantia, a historic wine region south of Cape Town. The restaurant sits on the slopes of the estate, with the vineyards and gardens providing a backdrop to the dining room.
