Grass Roof
Grass Roof is a working farm with a restaurant, play areas, and bike tracks near Gqeberha. You eat meals made with vegetables grown on the property, served in a space that looks out over the fields. The farm stall sells local produce and baked goods made in-house.
The restaurant sits at the center of the farm, with play areas for children nearby. Swings, slides, and a jungle gym let kids explore while adults eat. Across the road, a bike park has pump tracks and downhill routes for riders of different skill levels. The farm also hosts a weekly park run on a five-kilometer loop around the property.
Rescue donkeys and cats live on the farm, adding to the sense of a place where food and land connect. Families come for meals, bike rides, and time outside, with the kitchen serving from morning until late afternoon. The bike park operates on weekends and school holidays, with helmets required for riders.
The farm’s location on Heron Road makes it a short drive from Gqeberha, with space to eat, play, and ride in the same visit.
