Kyalami Estate, Kyalami

Kyalami Estate is a residential community in Midrand, enclosed and secured with 24-hour patrols. The estate has nine hundred and ninety-four homes set among sixteen parks and five dams, with walking paths connecting them. You can hear ducks on the water from some of the pathways.

The parks have playground equipment, gazebos and braai areas. Three of the dams allow catch-and-release fishing, and all attract waterbirds like cormorants and kingfishers. A forest walk runs through part of the estate, shaded by mature trees.

Sports facilities include floodlit tennis, squash and padel courts, an outdoor gym, and fields for soccer, basketball and netball. The clubhouse takes bookings for private events. The estate was established in 1988 by Anglo American Properties as one of South Africa's early secured residential developments.

Midrand's schools, shops and the Gautrain station are a short drive away. The estate gates are staffed around the clock.
