Harbour House Hotel
A Hermanus hotel with an infinity pool overlooking Walker Bay
You stay at Harbour House Hotel on the edge of Hermanus Old Harbour, where the infinity pool meets the horizon of Walker Bay. The hotel has three sections: the slate-roof Manor House with freestanding baths and Juliet balconies, the New Wing with kitchenette studios, and Harbour Square across the road with open-plan bathrooms. All rooms have Wi-Fi and smart TVs.
The in-house restaurant, Selkirk’s, serves breakfast on the Lookout Terrace — homemade scones with bay views — and lunch dishes like grilled hake or steak. The wine bar pours local Walker Bay vintages. The infinity pool is the focal point, set close enough to the sea that you might see whales from the water between June and November.
Harbour House sits on Harbour Road, a short walk from the working harbour and the cliff path that runs along the bay. The train does not reach Hermanus, so you arrive by car or shuttle. The hotel takes pets in some rooms, and families spread across the studios and residences.
The Old Harbour draws the hotel’s guests: it is the reason the building faces the water, and the reason the pool was placed where it is.
