The Lodge at Prince's Grant, KwaDukuza South Africa

You stay at The Lodge at Prince's Grant on a golf estate forty-five minutes north of Durban, where the rooms look out over the course and the Indian Ocean. The estate sits between sugarcane fields and the coast, with fifteen rooms split between the main lodge building and a nearby annexe. Each room has air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom, and a balcony or patio.

The golf course was designed by Peter Matkovich and opened in 1994. It blends links and parkland styles, with fairways that run toward the ocean. The sixteenth hole was once a rice plantation, a detail kept from the land's earlier use.

The lodge has a restaurant and bar, and the estate includes a lagoon. The coast here is quieter than the busier beaches nearer to Durban. The estate is gated, with controlled access for guests and residents.

Rooms have tea and coffee facilities, satellite television, and Wi-Fi. Some face the golf course, others the ocean. The annexe rooms are a short walk from the main lodge.
