Luxury Tented Village @ Urban Glamping

You stay in safari-style tents on raised wooden decks beneath a canopy of trees, though the main road of St Lucia is just outside the gate. Each tent has a private walkway leading to its deck, where you can sit at your own table or stretch out on the sleeper couch. Inside, a standing fan cools the space, and mosquito nets cover the windows and door. The en-suite bathroom has a large shower, and a kitchenette holds a mini fridge for drinks and snacks. The staff handles dishwashing — you’re on holiday.

Two swimming pools sit within the property, with gazebos and loungers for drying towels between dips. The reception can book activities in the nearby Isimangaliso Wetland Park, from hippo and crocodile boat cruises to whale watching in season. Restaurants and supermarkets are within walking distance, so you can dine out or self-cater.

St Lucia is almost an island, bordered by the Indian Ocean and Lake St Lucia. Hippos sometimes wander the streets at night, and over five hundred bird species have been recorded in the area. The glamping village makes a base for exploring it all, with the wetland park’s trails and beaches a short drive away.
