The Pig and Plough is a farmstall and restaurant in Winterton, KwaZulu-Natal, serving pork products from Ambleside Meats, their own farm. You can order breakfast, lunch, or light meals, with freshly baked goods made daily and pizzas from their wood-fired oven. The menu features vegetables grown on-site and a selection of local wines and olive oils.

The farmstall sells frozen homemade meals, artisanal jams, and other delicacies, ideal for gifts or home use. Families with children can enjoy the fenced play area, petting farm, and duck pond. The restaurant opened in February 2011 and has become a local gathering spot.

The Pig and Plough is part of Ambleside Farm, which has been producing pork since 1936. The farm’s abattoir, opened in 2004, ensures traceability and quality from farm to table. The restaurant continues this tradition, offering a direct link between the farm and the plate.
