The Ultimate Lodge

The Ultimate Lodge sits in the Soutpansberg near Louis Trichardt, with ten standard rooms and seven self-catering cottages spread across the property. The cottages have kitchens, braai stands, and private verandas; some sleep families with bunk beds. All rooms have air conditioning, TVs with DStv, and free Wi-Fi.

A swimming pool with a lapa and braai area sits at the center of the grounds, and two hiking trails wind into the mountains. The bar serves drinks with views of the Soutpansberg, and the restaurant plates breakfast and à la carte meals. For groups, there’s a function venue that seats sixty, or a hundred in cinema style.

Guests can book Swedish or hot stone massages at the spa, though treatments require advance notice. The gardens and a picnic spot by the dam offer quiet spaces to sit. The lodge allows day visitors between half past seven and four, except over Christmas and New Year.
