El Picoteo is a Spanish tapas restaurant set on Rhebokskloof Wine Estate in Paarl. You eat on the terrace overlooking the vineyards or inside near the pizza oven in cooler months. The menu leans on Spanish tradition — tapas, pintxos, paella — with South African ingredients. Breakfast and lunch are served daily; dinner is available only on Fridays and Saturdays.

The owners, Marco and Susana, previously ran a restaurant in Santiago de Compostela before bringing their kitchen to Paarl. The dining area spreads across the estate’s gardens, with tables under oak trees and space for children to play. Dogs are welcome. In summer, the terrace fills for long lunches with Rhebokskloof wines.

The restaurant sits on a working wine estate. You reach it by driving through the vineyards to the main building.
