Friday Island
A watersports guest house on Langebaan Lagoon with a beachfront restaurant
Friday Island sits on the shore of Langebaan Lagoon, where the wind pulls in sailors and the kitchen serves meals with a view of the water. The guest house has five sea-facing units that sleep four people each, plus five courtyard units for two and a family room that takes four. Groups book the place out for weddings and team-building weekends — it holds forty people at capacity.
The lagoon is known for windsurfing and kitesurfing, with steady winds and flat water protected from the open ocean. You can launch directly from the beach in front of the property. Sailors come for the Hobie cats, and mornings often see boats and surf-skis on the glassy water.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a view of the lagoon. The menu leans West Coast — seafood, straightforward cooking — and the dining room has the same laid-back feel as the rest of the property. A function room takes events, with audio-visual gear available for corporate groups.
Langebaan town is a short walk away along the beach road. The guest house is on Hoofstraat, the main street running parallel to the water.
