Live Bait is a seafood restaurant on the edge of Kalk Bay harbour, close enough to the breakwater that you can hear the waves from the table. The kitchen serves seafood — line fish, calamari, sushi — and the dining room looks out over the working harbour, so the boats and water are part of the view. The restaurant is popular with both locals and visitors, filling with families at midday and couples in the evening.

The breakwater is the reason the restaurant is here at all. The building went up to serve the people who came to watch the waves, and the kitchen followed the crowd. You still eat beside the same water, with the same boats coming and going.
