Reload Flamingo Square Centre is a café in Cape Town where you eat sourdough pizza and drink artisan coffee in a plant-filled space. The kitchen makes most of its ingredients in-house — bagels, breads, sauces — and stretches its pizza dough by hand, never rolling it, to keep the texture light and crisp. The coffee is roasted locally by Word Of Speciality Coffee Roasters, using Congolese and Ethiopian beans.

The outdoor seating area is filled with plants, which gives the café its green, natural feel. Inside, the baristas are trained to make each cup of coffee with care.

Reload began in 2013 as a coffee-focused café with a small food menu. Over time, it expanded its offerings to include sourdough pizza and other dishes, developed by chef Gael Oberholzer. The café is known for its eight-hour slow-roasted BBQ pulled pork topping.

The café sits in Flamingo Square Centre at the corner of Blaauwberg and Study Streets, with outdoor seating that makes the most of Cape Town’s weather.
