The Orchard Farm Stall
The Orchard Farm Stall is a countryside stop on the N2 near Grabouw, where you buy homemade pies, bread, and jams or sit for coffee on the deck. The bakery turns out loaves, muffins, and apple tarts; the shelves hold local honey, teas, and small gifts. A playground with a jumping castle and a pet-friendly lawn make it a break for families.
The stall has stood here since the 1960s, first as a simple farm shop and now with a coffee counter and gluten-free store added. The deck looks out over the Elgin Valley, and the restrooms are kept clean for travellers passing through. You can order pies or bobotie ahead to collect, or browse the crafts while children play.
The N2 runs close by, bringing a stream of cars and trucks, but the stall itself is set back enough for the noise to fade. It works because of the road — a place to stretch legs and fill a basket before driving on.
