Time Out Market Cape Town
Time Out Market Cape Town is a food hall in the Old Power Station building at the V&A Waterfront. Thirteen kitchens serve dishes from local chefs — ramen, burgers, sushi and others — with a wine bar pouring South African selections. The space was originally a power station; now it holds communal tables where you eat from different vendors at once.
The market is the first Time Out location in Africa, following others in Lisbon and New York. It operates as a cashless space, with card payments only. Live performances sometimes take place on the small stage, though most of the noise comes from the kitchens and the crowd.
The V&A Waterfront surrounds the building, so you can walk to shops or the aquarium after eating. The market sits near the Hop-on-Hop-off bus stop, which connects to other parts of the city.
