VOI Kiwengwa Resort

You stay at VOI Kiwengwa Resort on a stretch of white sand in Zanzibar, where the beach runs for eight kilometers and the coral reef is reachable on foot at low tide. The resort has a freshwater pool with a separate children’s section, a spa, and a sports area that takes up a third of the grounds. Rooms are spread across the property, built with wood and traditional styling.

Meals come from several restaurants and bars, with chefs available to accommodate dietary needs if notified in advance. The beach is the focus — twenty to two hundred meters wide, depending on the tide — and towels are provided for both sand and pool. Wi-Fi covers the common areas.

The resort is forty-five kilometers from Zanzibar’s international airport, about a forty-five-minute drive. Stone Town, the island’s historic center, is forty kilometers away. Check-in starts at two in the afternoon; check-out is by ten in the morning.
